Manufacturers of the “Liberator”
History of Liberty Worx, LLC
Pete Odland of White’s Bridge Tooling, Inc. has been assisting handicapped hunters to get back into the wild for many years. Pete has helped design and build everything from golf carts to special weapons specifically designed to accommodate handicapped individuals.
In 2007, Pete was contacted by Ted Nugent and asked to assist with the Clark Brothers hunt in Texas. The Clarks are four physically challenged brothers, who have muscular dystrophy. Ted offered to provide them with a hunt, but felt that the Clarks would need some kind of assistance with the operation of the weapons, both firearms and crossbows.
Pete and his friend Bob Schafer of Engineered Automation Systems, Inc. teamed up for the project. They designed and built a hunting aid they called the “LIBERATOR”. After Ted Nugent showed the Liberator on his “Spirit of the Wild” TV show many people contacted White’s Bridge Tooling wondering how they could obtain one.
Because of this interest Pete & Bob formed Liberty Worx, LLC to make Liberators available to physically challenged hunters.
Recently the Liberator has been featured in many articles and on television shows including Michigan Out Of Doors and Hunting 201.
